Send out the red carpet, I've got my pretty shoes on

In the interest of keeping everyone informed and to boast a little, it's time for a grad school update:
On February 1, George Mason University in Washington DC called and offered me a position in their program. I was super-duper excited because it was my first real offer and from a school in my first quartile! They haven't released their funding information yet, but I loved talking to my adviser and they all seem really nice.
Pre-Feb 1 I got an e-mail from UGA asking if I would like to be nominated for their Presidential Fellowship (worth $24,000 and tuition waived). That one sort of fell into the no-duh pile but I was nicer when I answered back yes. No official offer yet, but that one looks like it's in the bag. (By the way, UGA was 2nd quartile)
Today, I talked to Rice University. They made two admissions offers this year and I was one of them! Huzzah! This school was also in my first quartile and secretly was my top choice for a long long time. I'll need to see the place to know for sure, but I'm really excited about this one. I received good funding from them too.
Texas A&M called while I was at dinner and I'll call them back tomorrow. I heard through the grapevine that they're going to make me an offer too, so not a bad week overall. Third quartile though, so I won't be going there unless the money's really super, but it's nice to be wanted.
So all of this is fantastic. I'm really excited about my prospects so far and it's really rare for me to be hearing back from all of these schools so soon. I'm hoping that I have a really tough decision to make in April. In the mean time, I'm reveling.

grad school, glee
