Continued from here.

Sun was shining through the curtains the next morning when Regan woke up, burrowed down underneath the blankets and pillows. She looked around for a moment as she poked her head out, confused. Where was she? Then she remembered - they were in Uncle Giles' guest house.

And her mom was back!

Regan quickly pushed back the covers and hopped out of bed, despite her muscles aching a bit. That scythe had been heavy and took a lot of concentration to use. But it had been worth it.

Rummaging through her bag, she searched for her video, finally finding it toward the bottom and pulling it out. Once she turned it on, she swung it around and began filming. "We got mom back last night. I know I lived in a different dimension and was raised by demons, but it was probably the most amazing thing I've ever had happen to me. I killed Illyria, and my dad said the spell to bring my mother back to her body, and then she was...there."

She turned the camera around and headed out into the hallway. "We're in the guest house at Uncle Giles' now - it's as big as the house I lived in, growing up with the Me'tenlik people. And Mom and Dad..."

Regan suddenly stopped outside the door to the room where her parents would be sleeping, suddenly recalling something Spike had said the other day when he knew her dad couldn't hear. Something about the first thing "Percy" doing when her mother was back being "shagging her senseless". And she remembered her dad's reaction to her asking about shagging, and how sex was supposed to be between two people.

"Well, maybe I should leave them alone for a little longer." She turned the video around again. "I'll make them breakfast instead."

Heading down to the kitchen, she found that the groundskeeper had brought in supplies at some point, so she started figuring out what to make. She set the camera down on the counter and took out a new loaf of bread. "I'll make them toast. Only...where's the toaster?" Then she remembered how Giles had used the oven to make toast and went over to it, staring at the knobs. Broil? That was it.

"Hopefully, this won't be the last entry I'll be making into my video diary," she said as she turned the knob.
