Marvel rumours and how they affect Toro

Jun 24, 2014 16:32

There've been some flimsy rumours popping up that Marvel is soon going to reboot their entire universe, and bring it back without the X-Men, or mutants of any kind, instead promoting the Inhumans. If this is true -- and I'll provide some links so you can see for yourself what I meant by "flimsy" -- then it would be an epic example of a company associated with Disney taking a poison pill just to spite someone, in this case Fox and the popularity they're getting from the X-Men license. It's not a secret that Marvel's been trying to get that back for a while. And if this is true, it has an effect on the Invaders.

Here are those links:

Alright, so, it's easy enough to ignore any mutantness of Namor's -- just say his powers are sheerly from being an Atlantean hybrid and you're good. The Brits on the team have all gotten their powers from other places, as well. The only one skunked would be Toro.

Except not. Remember when we were all going "wait, why is Toro suddenly finding out he's an Inhuman? Does that make him an Inhuman mutant cyborg firebug? Isn't that a bit much?" If they take away the mutant, it's back to about where it was before. And if the reboot rumour is true, or even true-ish, then they've already laid in the groundwork to let him survive Axis. (Oh, the irony...)

What do y'all think?

invaders, toro
