Scans from Avengers West Coast #65
Yet again, we find a Torch story inserted into these pages after the main storyline. Last time, they did a quick little story on Torch meeting up with Steve again.
This time, I guess they got tired of Torch (after only a few issues!) or the writer wanted to take Jim with him to the Namor comics, or I don't know but they decided rather than Jim being a full time West Coast Avenger, he's go off with Toro's Widow, Anne, and they'd try and find Toro's body together.
I could explain more, but this is old comics we're talking about everything plus the kitchen sink is explained in the prose :)
Tricky Namor! He does love his costume though. Also, I really like the first shot of Torch and Toro. They look so happy burning Nazi's alive together ^^'' (no really, it's a nice shot of the two of them. I also appreciate it showing that despite Alex Ross's claims, Toro was sometimes drawn with a face!)
Also, who doesn't love the Marvel sliding timeline? Anne here looks about as old as Jan or Wanda. Then suddenly, when Toro is alive again, she's an old lady.
Wanda, not so much, or Hank, or Wonder Man, or Jan-when she wasn't dead, etc, etc, etc.
