I am very glad that you have found such a powerful calling... foster children need incredible support and love, and if you can provide that, that is such a blessing to them. Good luck. I pray you do get the opportunity to provide that supporting home for a child one day. Even if it's just one child... it's still such a difference, don't you think?
What a powerful entry... what you say is completely correct. And it is quite sad that our society is almost "trained" you could say to think of people in that manner, and it isn't fair or right. I personally am weary of any man at nighttime... I knew one of the girls that almost got raped on campus last semester and it's all just so incredibly frightening. What kind of world are we living in where we can't even feel comfortable walking around our own campus at nighttime? (although she only was because the bus she was waiting for never bothered to come and so she was forced to walk back to her dorm) And even in our own homes we can be attacked by people breaking in and acting like barbarians... And I ask you... why? What possible reason could you ever have to hurt another human being intentionally like that?
You don't sound cheesy... you show a lot of courage, pride, and merit to say your feelings like that. A lot of people wouldn't have the guts or will to do that. And that's something to be proud of.
If you have the belief in it, and the will, it won't be merely a dream. It will be a reality if you make it happen. Always believe in your dreams. There are many more possible feats than impossible ones if you just have faith in yourself. I won't be naive and say anything is possible, for some things really aren't meant to be... like I wouldn't try to grow gills and live in the ocean... but if you truly believe in such a cause, giving a loving home to a child who desperately needs one badly, then it shall happen.
