Life keeps on and on and on and on...
So, this school year has been thus far extremely eventful and I have been keeping far more busier than ever before. I am back working in Ann Arbor at MBS (the campus bookstore) and I got a job at the new Borders in Canton in August. On top of work, I am also taking classes, which I am still getting used to working and going to school at the same time. Oh, and paying rent too. (for somewhere I am never at, of course-I guess that's just how it goes.)
Re-cap of life since the end of August up until now include:
- Turning 21
- Meeting Jona Bechtolt of YACHT and giving him a Budweiser necklace
- Grand Rapids with Annie to see The Format and almost having her tire fall off because we don't know how to put air into tires
- Hanging out with Nami and Eriko (my Japanese friends) for the first time in 8 years
- Getting front row at the Flaming Lips and getting to be with Rachel for her first FL concert
- Seeing The Cotton Jones Basket Ride at the Blind Pig in September (Michael Nau of my favorite band Page France's side project thingy because my obsessiveness has reached an unhealthy level)
- Finally buying a new (well,used) computer
- Spending a lot of time at Emily's place in Ann Arbor
- Bishop Allen/John Vanderslice with Kevin
- Going to my friend (from work) Nick's art gallery
- My first encounter with the Aut bar
- Having a nervous breakdown trying to deal with studying and working at the same time (now I know why college kids kill themselves)
- Grand Buffet in Detroit with Jack, having them tell Rachel and I uncomfortable things while they were on stage, Of Montreal sucking some major ass
- Getting to see Wes Anderson + Jason Schwartzman on my break without having to wait in line
- Annie's 21st birthday at lowertown grille
- Finally getting over the plague
- Seeing Rachel at Jessie's roommates birthday party-total surprise!
- Ellen's birthday party/our Halloween party at the apartment
- The best apple orchard trip ever
- Going to downtown Detroit with my Spanish class for the day of the dead
- Seeing Jens Lekman in Cleveland with the weirdest people on the planet
- Getting my first haircut in months because I finally found the time
I'm glad I made this list because now I realize that my hard work does pay off. I've got some pretty good friends too, especially those that find the time practically every day to hear me ramble even though they live all the way in New York or those who live kind of far away, but still find the time/money to see me. It's nice. I'll update again in about a year or so. Something like that.
