Got a free ticket to see Coheed and Cambria with Slipknot on Sunday in San Antonio. Can't wait to go. It's going to be nice to get away for a day.
I can't wait for SOI this summer either. 2 months at Camp Pendelton. 2.5 months of active duty pay, California weather, weekend liberty in Cali, and best of all, being in the field training. Live fire, humps, not having to worry about showering for days on end. Not caring who I run into. It's going to be great. Found out my squad leader is going to have to go to SOI too. He transferred to a grunt unit after being a combat engineer. So he has to go, and we might end up going together. I won't have to put up with all the kids so much, and seeing as how he's a Sgt, my squad leader on top of that, it'll be fun. I need to start working out again though. I'm going to try and get a meritorious promotion to Cpl. by the end of the year. Hopefully at least before we deploy next year.
Lots of stuff going down right now. Too much. Joining a fraternity, working as a TA in the physics department and doing my research with my professor. Keeps me plenty busy. Which is good. I don't have a lot of time to think about things. At least not as much as I used to. Not sure if it's good or bad. I have a lot of things on my mind, just don't really have an outlet for it right now. I've started keeping a personal journal, not this online shit, that I can get everything out in. It's really helping a lot.
