This is a waste of time.

It seems that no matter how many times I clean the place, it stubbornly remains otherwise.

cleaningtiems, not spotless

Does it?

It does, due to the inhabitants having the tendency to wander in and out of the place without a care that they are trekking dirt.

Ah, I was under the impression that the manor magically developed a gravitational pull to dust.

If that were the case, I would not even bother with this place from the start. The lack of agreeable housemates is troubling enough.

Really? How awful. I assume times have changed, people used to enjoy living in a clean environment.

Times did not change.

It, unfortunately, remains the same.

The lack of order, the inefficiency, their indifference regarding the environment they live and work in. Their mindsets cannot be changed.

Pitiful.

Pitiful?

I disagree. They deserve neither pity or compassion.

Forgive me, 'pitiful' is too gentle an adjective to describe such fickle minds. 'Pathetic' would perhaps be a more suggestive term, don't you think?

...

Contemptible is the first word that comes to mind, but pathetic is acceptable as well.

I believe we had not introduced ourselves yet.

A pleasure, Mikami.

I am Light.

The pleasure is all mine, Light-san. It is hard to find someone who can see eye to eye with me.

And if you do not mind me commenting, Light is an unusual name.

It is difficult to find those able to think and reason clearly, without any influence from another.

Of course not, I have been told as much.

Only those who are weak-willed and in doubt allow themselves to be swayed by the words and actions of others.

British? American?

And that is precisely why so many of those allow misguided bigots to command and control their lives.

Japanese, actually.

Especially misguided bigots who are not righteous. Those who do so in full knowledge are despicable and deserve to be judged. And those who are ignorant are equally as bad.

Ignorantia legis neminem excusat.

... It is even more unusual then. I believe this is the first time I have heard of it.
