Challenge #04: [series challenge] Rumble Voting
Let's vote for our fourth round of rumble icons! Note that you do not have to be signed up for this challenge to vote, but those who are signed up will lose points if they miss two consecutive rounds of voting.
In rumbles, voting is not just about seeing who did best, but about providing feedback for all makers. You will vote for the three icons you think are best (the reason on these doesn't necessarily have to be constructive, but at least tell them what made you choose the icon in your top three!), and then also give at least two feedback votes with constructive criticism.
Here are some examples of unacceptable feedback votes:
- I can't vote for this icon because I hate the character lol he's the worst (this vote has nothing to do with the skills of the maker)
- everything about this icon sucks! It's so boring. (this is criticism, but it is not constructive!)
- pink is a weird choice for this icon (on the verge of being helpful, but you need a decent reason to back it up)
Here are some examples of acceptable and helpful feedback votes:
- I like your willingness to experiement with cropping and rotation, but it's hard for me to tell who the subject is in this icon. I think either the obscure crop or the rotation would look cool, but together they are a bit disorienting.
- This icon is so creative, but all the pieces don't quite cohere. I think committing either to warm tones or cool tones would make the background and foreground come together better.
- Because you were working with such light colors, part of this icon looks blown out on my monitor. You might try dialling down the brightness/contrast a tad, or creating layer masks for screen and/or brightness layers so you can have more control over the bright parts.
