I can't believe I just wrote the entire story of my character Gabrielle. Everything that happened to her mother to what Gabrielle does at the end of her story- everything. *blinks* My God. 10 hrs dude. TEN (with bouts of art time in between).

Back Story: Dorothy Matthews and Miriam Amos were both best friends, and orphans who had been a part of Order since they were 13. They had both witnessed countless horrors and wanted nothing of the cult’s rituals - (much like Alessa) they had different views of the faith. Having no where to go though, they kept silent, trying to give the orphans that entered the House as normal a life as possible. Dorothy attracts the attention of one of the older members, a 21-year-old Benjamin Elias, but she isn’t interested. Then, one summer evening, after an afternoon at the lake with the children, Dorothy is dragged into the ritual room by him and raped. He leaves her on the alter where her blood leaks into the chasm beneath her. There she is visited by St. Jennifer who comforts her and tells her he would be punished - not now, but by the seed in her. That night Dorothy returns not to her room, but Miriam’s and tells her about St. Jennifer. Miriam and her decide to keep quiet - letting Benjamin believe that he had gotten away with raping Dorothy. When it was clear that she was pregnant, he tells everyone that he will wed her and the child will become a part of the cult. Preparations were made, but in late December Dorothy goes into labor, Dr. Kaufman takes her to St. Alchemilla Hospital where, before she died of complications, Dorothy sees a vision of St. Jennifer again. She tells Dorothy that she will die and that the child must be given to Miriam. Calling Miriam in, Dorothy tells Miriam she would have to take care of Miriam for her. Miriam tearfully agrees and Kaufman acts as witness. After a week in the hospital, Miriam brings her back to Hope House and names her Gabrielle, after the archangel and its meaning “hero of god”. While nursing the baby, Miriam is visited by St. Jennifer. She tells her that when the opportunity arises, she must leave Silent Hill with what orphans she can. From then on Mirium became severely protective of the orphans. Her protectiveness made it to where only the teens were used in the rituals. Even then, she nurtured and cared for them afterwards like her own children.

After five years, in 1986, the town is evacuated when Alessa’s powers wake up once again. Seeing this as her chance to get away, Miriam tells the Order that they will all be punished for twisting god’s ways and promises they won’t corrupt any more children. While all the older children, including Gabrielle, are taken from the school to Ashfield, Miriam takes the remaining children away from Hope House and takes them to the Ashfield Orphanage. There she finds Gabrielle and three other children she had grown extremely close to while she was at Hope House. Adopting the four, they started a new life in Ashfield, close enough for her to keep her eye on the Order, but far enough away from her children. She started taking them to normal Catholic church and made sure they lived their lives to the fullest: taking long road trips across the US, making friends, playing sports, having parties - being normal carefree children. She also helped part time with the orphanage, making sure all the children from the Hope House had been given to good homes across the US.

In the summer of 1999, Miriam feels that since she hasn’t heard anything from or of the Order since they left, that the family should return to Silent Hill and to where their roots were. Agreeing, they five return to Silent Hill and move into the house on Lindsey Street, next to Gonzale’s Mexican Restaurant. For two years Eliana, Jeremy, and Gabrielle finish high school in Paleville while Isabel attended middle school and started high school there. In late 2001, when Gabrielle, Elina, and Jeremy left college Miriam received a phone call from Father Vincent. He asks her if she could tell him about what happened with the Hope House. Remembering him from her time with the Order, she tells him that she will have nothing to do with the Cult. He tells her that he doesn’t plan to reconvert her, that he only wants to know the facts. Intrigued by his want for knowledge, she tells him everything and even begins to help him with the Chapel Library. The two even became friends, Miriam inviting him into the home for dinner and sharing new ways to improve the church. That summer, Vincent warned Miriam that she should leave town for a few months. Trusting his intentions, Miriam and Isabel left on a road trip to Florida.

Upon returning, Miriam discovered Vincent’s dead body and Claudia’s rotting corpse in the ritualistic chasm below. Burying Vincent, Miriam took certain books from the library to keep away from the new Priest when he was appointed. Going back to her life, Miriam had no idea that Gabrielle’s father Benjamin was appoint new priest. For nine months Benjamin had no idea that Miriam was living in Silent Hill until he began to listen to Vincent’s old tapes, finding Miriam’s, he looked her up. Eager to avenge the old Order members, Benjamin decided to show what happened to those who deserted the road to salvation. For a month he preached a twisted tale about Miriam stealing his and his dead wife’s daughter, along with all the young disciples the Order once had and brainwashing them. He said that she had taken them off the road of salvation. With they’re help he kidnapped each of the Amos family and locked them away in the chapel. Benjamin’s anger and want for Gabrielle to return to the Order trigger the town’s call to Gabrielle. Using Jeremy’s unconscious want to see his sister safe, the town calls her in New York and gets her to come back to Silent Hill.

When Gabrielle arrives in town and meets Benjamin at her family home. He tells her that he is her father and that Miriam stole her away from him when she was five. Confused and scared, Gabrielle begins her desperate search for her family. This triggers her decent into the Other World, where the town begins to materializes all her confusion, Benjamin’s anger towards her mother and family, Miriam’s guilt for not telling her about her mother and the Cult, and her sibling’s past with the cult and wraps her up in a chaotic journey of self discovery. Fighting the monsters of her fears and feelings directed at her, Gabrielle’s only guide through the town is Jennifer, (the Saint both her mother and Miriam been guided by - now materialized by Miriam’s knowledge of her and strong want for Gabrielle to stay on the right path).

Finally, after learning the real story about her and her family’s past, she realizes where her family is. Returning to the chapel, she discovers Benjamin has had Jeremy, Isabel and Eliana locked in confession and plans to rehabilitate them. However, Miriam he plans to sacrifice her so that he may become a saint for bringing her and her siblings back into the Order where they belonged. She tricks him into believing that she wishes to witness the sacrifice. Happy that she has come to her senses, he lets her change into the Ceremonial Robes. Sneaking through the backs of the chapel, she frees her siblings before returning to the ritual chamber where everyone waits for the sacrifice. Standing behind him, Gabrielle pulls out the gun she hid in robes and aims it at his heart.

“With this sacrifice, may God forgive us and show us the way back to Paradise!” The gun fires and Benjamin stands stunned, his arms instantly falling to his side, the bronze dagger clattering to the floor. Just before he collapses, she calmly says: “Mom says hi.” Stepping over him, she looks over the gathered followers and holds up her gun. “God sent me to tell you that She’s not happy.”

Ironically, before anyone can say anything else, Benjamin’s blood drip into the chasm, causing the entire chapel to quake. The mystical energies surrounding Silent Hill begins to tear the chapel apart- the followers begin to flee as Gabrielle wakes the unconscious Miriam and wraps her robes (having worn her clothes underneath) around her before quickly escaping the chapel from the Amusement Park entrance. On the topside, Gabrielle and Miriam watch as the Hope House begins to cave in on itself and screams can be heard from where they stand.

Epilogue: Afterwards the two meet up with the freed siblings and return home. Where Miriam begins to make sure the Cult doesn’t start up again and the siblings feel justified, and live their lives again - Gabrielle finally aware of her full past.
