Day 15,
Rest day, very necessary, i'm starting to get into the mode where i can't really rest on my designated rest days which is an early sign of over training but so far i don't anticipate it being a huge ordeal.
Day 16: Warrior Challenge day,
This challenge was called the "sweet 16" it bears that name because it's a sixteen minute cardio blast workout. The guiding principle is called the tabbata protocol. The idea behind it being to do very short but intense intervals of cardio work with quick rest periods many times. The way it worked was i would punch the heavy bag hard for 20 seconds then take 10 seconds rest and then repeat 7 more times. Then repeated this routine of 8 rounds for three other exercises. This is a really great workout, i'm going to read up a little bit more on the tabbata protocol more because i think it's a very effective means to increase cardio capacity.
On a side note i decided i was going to go home for lunch during work to save some cash. As i'm backnig out of my parking space i notice that all of a sudden i can't back up anymore. I look to my left and a lady totally backed into me. It's just surface damage and the car still runs fine and the door she hit still opens fine but it's a huge inconvenience. That wasn't even the most exciting part of the day.
Day 17: Sprints
After i went to the body shop to get an estimate on the damage i headed up to campus to get my sprints done. As the weeks continue to roll by the sprints get shorter with more frequency. Today was 10x100m followed by 5x50m. The cool thing was that the whole track was empty due to spring break. The sprints went well and i'm really starting to notice gains in my cardio. Afterwards it was core time.
The weather is great and i'm at work, Doh!
