One of the things that precipitated the events that led to my ban at the HPN was my posting a newsworthy and relevant article about several UK hospitals that burned aborted fetus remains for fuel. Moderator Silver Ink Pot deleted the post and told me, "Posting gross stuff for shock value isn't going to fly." An argument about appropriate subject matter and moderator overreach escalated from there, and, because the HPN Moderators must silence anyone who questions their blatant bias, I was soon banned.
Lo and behold, today SIP posted an article about a dead, decaying whale carcass that is set to explode in Trout River, Newfoundland. The article describes other whale carcass explosions, noting that an explosion in Taiwain "showered the street with a disgusting mixture of blood and guts. And kids climbing on the Trout River whale could end up in a pile of guts even if the whale doesn't explode: Research scientist Jack Lawson told the National Post that, with the skin deteriorating, climbing on the whale could mean falling into the decaying, liquid mess inside the body cavity."
Yeah, that's not "gross" at all. And I'm sure SIP didn't post the article for its "shock value" but for the important ethical and moral discussion it might prompt.
Meanwhile, in Oregon, it has been discovered an incinerator used to provide power to Oregon homes has been burning aborted babies from Canada shipped with other "medical waste". But that's not a topic that can be discussed at the HPN, because it's too "gross."
Maybe they should change the forum name from "the HPN" to "the TPN": that is, "the Thought Police Network."
