By the reason of Michael Jackson's passing earlier this year, it was time for a Michael Jackson Tribute in the Swedish Idol 2009
Today was the second out of 10 finals for the Swedish version of Idol and the theme was Michael Jackson. 10 finalists, 10 songs, a tough choice for the Swedish people.
I am actually completely unable to put my favourites in any kind of order, a lot of them were terrific tonight and a lot of them surprised me.
So below, you will find a list of the Idols and their songs, together with a few comments, in the order they were sung.
1, Calle Kristiansson - Bad
He is actually one of the few that I would like to see leave the competition. I do not like the way he performs on stage and the way he uses his voice.
The jury agreed with me tonight and said that he might be the one leaving.
2, Camilla Håkansson - Human Nature
I can honestly say that Camilla seemed like a diva-like creature last week and with tonight's song-choice, she did make a better impression on me, but I doubt it's enough. She could have done a lot more.
3, Reza Ningtyas Lindh - The Way You Make Me Feel
AMAZING! Reza's got the whole package; amazing voice, amazing attitude on stage, perfect dancer - she looked like a female Michael Jackson today! Someone to watch out for in the future - she will be dangerous!
4, Mariette Hansson - I Want You Back
Mariette took a big step forward into my heart today - I adore this song and she did a terrific job. Even though she didn't impress me as much as a lot of the others did, she will still stay in the comp for a long time, if I was the one to decide.
5, Eddie Razaz - They Don't Care About Us
Fierce! Looked really dangerous and intimidating on stage! No wonder he gets erotic poems and short stories sent to his Facebook all the time - if I was able to I'd write something for him because of those dark eyes he's got!
6, Tove Östman Styrke - Will You Be There
Tove used to be my absolute favourite of all - an amzing talent, only 17 years old. But I guess she is not completely into this business yet. Tonight's song was way to hard for her and she admitted that herself afterwards. Fingers crossed that she will be able to stay in the comp, she can do a lot better.
7, Nicklas Hocker - Black or White
He feels a lot like last year's competitor Johan Palm - a young boy that all girls of about 12-15 years drool over and that's the reason he's going to be staying for a long time in the competition. He needs to fix a few things with his performances to get my vote, though.
8, Rabih Jaber - You Are Not Alone
Somebody wake me up - isn't Michael Jackson dead, or did I misunderstand that? At least tonight he was back on the stage in the shape of Rabih - goosebumps honestly! Rabih sounded exactly like Michael and I started to cry just by hearing that! After last week's failure, Rabih has shown that he is a true star with an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G talent!
9, Erika Selin - Beat It
Erika has gotten many complaints from the jury that she is "a child wrapped up in soft cotton" and so on. Well, today she showed that she can be tough as well. An amazing version of Beat It was delivered and Erika - you are still in the competition if you ask me!
10, Erik Grönwal - Thriller
Thriller - one of Michael Jackson's hardest songs to make your own version of. Basically because of that the original version is so well known. I think that Erik delivered what he had to deliver today and even though I do not see him as one of the Top 2 at the moment, he will stay in for a long time if he keeps performing like this.
I will go to bed now, but I will know by tomorrow who had to leave the competition today. Kisses and hugs to you all!
