For all you ficcers out there...

Here's an article from Reason Magazine on  the Fan Fiction Phenomena for all you ficcers out there.

And even though I don't do it much anymore.  I will occasionally write/continue parts of my old Roswell fics for my own fun and amusement.  Here's a section of Serenity that I wrote the other day as a gift to a friend.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth - especially as the gift was not for me specifically (and why is that, btw?) - but you stopped there? YOU STOPPED THERE?!?! Geez...

Love,
Q

Because, my dearest Q, you could never pick just one story and I have to be in the mood to play with the characters. Serenity is the one I can slip back into the easiest, and I may very well have plagarized myself for the above part (it's been along time since I've read over that).

And as to why I stopped there, well blame all the cliff-hanger training that Tammi and Courtney gave me over the years. Their evilness is pervasive.

COURTNEY?! Tammi is the CliffieQueen, supreme wielder of the Cliffhanger of Doom! How did I get dragged into this?!

Serenity, how I have missed you...

(Oh yeah, btw, new LJ. Heh.)

I seem to remember this story that had a chapter that ended with a gunshot or some bleeding from the stomach...

And then a really, really long delay between that chapter and the next.

Sometimes it is not the amount of cliffies that make you a cliffie queen but the severity of the cliffies you do provide.

Nice new LJ, by the way.

When you put it that way, it sounds so wholly incriminating.

Okay, first, that was one instance. I am, by nature and at heart, firmly anti-cliffhanger. They make people all murderous and enraged. And it's not as if I intended to go that long without updating. There were circumstances, and the circumstances were extenuating.

Yes, we'll go with that.

Excuses. Excuses.

If life and extenuating circumstances were legal excuses there would a lot less ficcers out there with readers out for their blood. So I'm really not sure if that's a viable excuse.

You could, of course, make the trauma up to me by telling me what you know about word press, blogger and all sorts of the web-building in between.

Mwahahahaha.
