Onion chutney is awesome. And really, really hot. Yeouch.
Annie and I went to "Taste of India II" in New Dorp last night to celebrate our second anniversary. We declared our affections for each other on January 7, 2004 at the Monmouth Battlefield. We celebrated on the 7th by going to the battlefield and ceremonially reenacted the occasion. We didn't have much time, as we had to be to my grandmother's house for Russian Christmas dinner, and then right after that, we were at Richmondtown to do the first of the series of Tavern Concerts! So, we finally got to go to dinner on Sunday.
Annie got me into Indian food about two months ago or so. I was a bit hesitant, as I didn't really like the smell of curry, particularly the potent blast of it I had to endure for two weeks in Hagerstown working on Gods and Generals a few years ago.
But... wow. It's durn good. The meal starts of with some onion chutney and green and brown sauce stuff that Annie really digs, and Indian flat bread thingies called Papad, which are awesome and spicy.
I got the Chicken Vindaloo. Annie got Palak Paneer. Fun names!
Good news for next semester... I got my single room! Hurrah! Count Basie Hall, room 1G06. Hurrah!
