An engaging time!

On Saturday night, two years and one day after we first met, I asked Annie to marry me. Yes, friends, we're engaged! We're all goofy with glee! Annie's dad said that this is the best news he's heard since the Berlin wall fell, and my parents are as happy as I've ever seen them.

The ring is a claddagh from Thomas Dillon's of Galway, Ireland, the oldest jewelers in Ireland, and are the original makers of the claddagh, beginning in 1750. This actually is the second ring, as the first was a piece of webbing from my braces which earlier that day I had to take off after I popped a button. Neither of us had expected it, so I left the Dillon's ring at home! I can't wait to see what Speedy says when I tell him that a piece of his braces was used as an engagement ring!

So, after wishing to do so for a long time, we can finally call each other fiancée/fiancé!
