First week of school....

A brief update...

The first week has been kind of intense, but great and rather tumultuous and... yeah.

Grandma died on saturday afternoon... I've been feeling really sad about it, but glad I've taken the time over the past two or three years to stop by whenever I'm home on break or in town and spend time and get to know her. I'm worried about grandpa, since Don died last year and now grandma and I think he's been lonely anyway. I'm headed home friday for the funeral and... I dunno. I've been glad that I have lots of work to burry myself in.

Classes are great though. Great teachers, great topics, generally very good. The only thing is that so far I've read 80+ pages of Kant, over 100 pages on Shan Buddhism, more than 30 pages of music history text, and then all the other little readings and essays. Essentially, I've really been living in the library. It's a mix of good and bad. Good 'cause I like it, bad 'cause I'm never around.

Started jamming with the steves and don. I really like it. It's refreshing.

Got the internship with the Rock Institute. Hopefully that will help me get a summer internship in some way or another.

Did some reading in Elody's studio while she painted tonight. She got sick of painting, so I painted some while she read Kant aloud to me. I think it needs to be made very clear: A friend who is willing to read Kant aloud to you is one hell of a friend. She's finished her mural, which is almost 300 feet long, and it looks great.

Tomorrow more class. For now, to bed.
