A bit of a delay on posting...

But! It's getting done now!

Everything is growing up really nice and big! Cat did a lot of work this week, so I was planning on scamming her into writing the post, but other crazy things have been going on in our little world, so I don't know when there would be time for her to do that...? I guess if she wants to we'll have her amend my rambly post, seeings as she did most of the work in the garden proper one day before I got there. :)

As to what I actually helped with-- we worked all together to free the peach tree from the grape vines that were taking over. The peach tree is so loaded with baby peaches this year, that we were planning on getting it braced up that evening after we had freed it, but the temperature went up quickly as the sun passed overhead... We did manage to get two heaping wheelbarrows of vines removed, which were delivered to the chickens and turkeys, and received with many happy bird sounds.

They also managed to scam less than perfect/mouldy blueberries off her as she went picking along the side of their run. :P

After we did some weeding in the garden proper, we went up to the orchard area (my family and I have been working on it, re-planting trees and other long lived plants up there for the past three years or so) to where my mum keeps her bees.

We watched her do her thing with them, and then went off with some buckets to gather some wild berries. We found the last of the little June blackberries, a load of black caps and wild raspberries, the last few salmon berries (it's really really late for them!), and a handful of fabulously tart huckleberries.

The power of man really is what he puts his hands to, and it's fun to see our hard work paying off, all over the property. It's an exciting time of year~!
