I think I read this quote on tumblr but I could be wrong:
Replace "I do not have time for" with "It is not a priority for me". Whenever you find yourself saying you don't have the time for something replace the latter phrase and discover what you're telling yourself and others isn't a priority.
I promised myself when I was pregnant that I would work out and I would never let myself feel the pain and discomfort that I experienced during pregnancy again because once I gave birth I could control my body again. Once I read that quote it really nailed down that I had in fact been putting my own health on the back burner for stupid reasons that came down to being lazy. This isn't to condemn anyone for being lazy. I've decided once I hit goal weight I'm probably going to binge on Mexican food or every piece of cheese I can find and ice cream and a few beers and then return to my regularly scheduled program. This isn't to say I've stopped enjoying movies or tv because OMG MY HEALTH IS SO IMPORTANT!
I've just been told lately that I'm inspiring people and junk. Considering I think of myself as the anti-workout person and the last person that would ever stop and say HEY GOTTA DO YOGA BRB I just want to let people know they can do this. You see all those stupid I CHANGED MY LIFE AND YOU CAN TOO things and they're dumb. Because working out and weight loss is personal. You want it or you don't. It's a priority or it's not. All of that is fine. I just upped it on my priority list because I want my next pregnancy to be way easier and I want to feel better (about myself).
If you want to know how I find the time? I force my significant other to help me and I force him to understand that it is a priority for me. And what do I give up? One tv show a night. One. These days most tv shows are an hour so unless I'm really pushing myself I'm possibly not even giving up AN ENTIRE TV SHOW. I also fit in work outs when the children sleep.
I don't know. I'm rambling. The important thing is ask yourself what you don't have time for and whether it's a priority.
Oh and I'm down something like 15 pounds in roughly 12 weeks. Here's to another 12.
