Long Time Since I've Rambled, Eh?

Today is my due date... boy, what a strange trip it's been! Last night I had to go to the ER because of the return of Le Marshmallow Leg. Another ultrasound was done and again, no clots found. But the ER doctor did tell us that he's seen this weirdness happen to quite a few other postpartum ladies, so that reassured me to think that I'm not alone in that department.

Katelyn is so... wonderful. So quiet, so mellow. Only cries when she's hungry. Natey is now getting used to her and now will pat her on the head or point out where her nose, ears, etc are. He's still trying to adjust to sharing me, but I think within time he will be okay with it. Her arrival has inspired and motivated him to talk more like a big boy - hopefully he continues this and will now do it in front of his teachers... just to prove to them once and for all that he's not delayed after all. Hopefully soon we will be able to go to the Resource Room with Kathy so that I can find some more clothes and stuff - I still can't fit into any of my jeans (*sniff*), so I'm forced to resort to still dress like a preggie, which in my case really ain't all that bad, actually.

Jon has been such a trooper in all of this... he tries to help me with what he can, but he's been so tired (and achy from arthritis flare-ups) lately that I haven't asked him due to I want him to be as well rested as possible for work.

I finally got to visit with my dad in person... Jon picked him up the day after Katey was born and brought him to the hospital to see the both of us. My dad really looks healthy and happy - even though he's still having problems moving out of that nursing home. But that's a long story, and I really don't want to go there... not right now anyway.

My MIL flew into town last Sunday to help me get adjusted to the newness of being a mom to 2 kids... she was so helpful. She helped me get my dining room organized, did the dishes for like 3 days straight and even took Natey off my hands one afternoon so that I could take a much-needed crash nap rest.

Well, I better head to bed... I think Katelyn finally drank her fill for awhile, so I must get some winks while I can!
