The uncertain future stares into my dreamless eyes
Questions bounce around in my confused heart
My hopes and dreams hang in the balance
As I wait for the answer to my fate
I pray for strength and courage to endure this test of love
My soul refuses to melt into tears of anguish...
Until his loving voice consoles my fragile heart

The Answer
My fate is sealed
Love has left me out in the rain
Tears for an hour, a moment of silence
I shake the pain off my chest
201 days wasted on a prince of lies
Dishonor returned for devotion
Confusion plagues my twilight dreams
But steadfast courage bolsters my pride
I awake to a fresh new day
My dreams are not true reality
So I add a shelf to the walls of my heart
Love lost, self-respect gained.
