home for the summer
hey ya'll, update time. i'm home for the summer as of two weeks ago. i didn't realize how much as changed downriver since i left last fall. stroh's burnt down last october and has moved their store two blocks down, the mcdonalds on eureka, the one we used to go to on break during senior year, is being rebuilt, and southland mall is being revamped totally. the stores in the mall are switching around also.
when i woke up this morning to take my little brother to school, i noticed that everyone that was online was at work or sleeping. It's nice to work at two jobs that don't start until either 4 or 6! I work for frito lay now here at home. my new boss has only given me fridays, saturdays, and sundays from 4-9, but it's kick ass pay at $10/hour. also, i still have the scorekeeping job. I work there on tuesdays and thursdays from 6:30-11ish. come june, the senior leagues, girls 16-18, start. one benefit to this job is definetly the free beer the tues/thurs teams give me.
last friday i got the chance to play poker with the old crew- shaun, matt, steve, sean gray, and pete. although i came in second, it was a great chance to hangout with the guys again. in case you haven't read past journal entries, i went 6 months without talking to most of these guys. it really sucks how things went down, a few regrets from me, but now it seems like everything is cool again. it turns out this summer isn't going to drama filled like last summer was.
I really don't have any plans this summer, except for working at MIS for lambda chi on june 18 &19, july 30 & 31, and august 20 & 21. i'm planning on moving into my new apartment by the house on august 15. i can't wait to move into my own apartment with drew, jay, and jim! it's going to be one hell of a year next year.
