In-Game Character Information
Name: Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing
Series: Hellsing
Age: 16

Personality: Before the life-altering events beginning with the death of her father, Integra Hellsing was a fairly quiet young girl, though she has always been strong-minded to the point of stubbornness. Her pride in family, duty, country, and religion (despite what other wizarding families may feel about the latter being hypocritical in some way) is unshakeable, and she's perfectly content to base her entire life around these convictions. She has always been geared towards being very independent, given how much time she spent either alone, or simply in the company of her father. After his death, and her confrontation with her uncle, she was forced to accept responsibilties far beyond the scope of any normal 12 year old girl, and as such, she has matured at an incredibly accelerated rate, though she still struggles with this occasionally now, as it has only been three years. She has a difficult time balancing out work, study, and duties with simple teenage pleasures, and as such, can see such activities and the people who engage in them as entirely frivolous. As expected, she doesn't easily make friends with others her age.

The most telling growth in Integra's personality over the past few years has been in terms of her confidence level. The self-assurance that comes from making tough calls, guiding an Order composed of adult wizards, and having the unwavering protection of an exceptional powerful vampire bodyguard have all helped strip away her childhood fears of dark creatures and evil powers, and she now faces these things with stalwart resolution, courage, lemon drops, and Bertie Botts' Every Flavor Beans.

Due to her age, gender, and the fact that she spends time away from the Order to attend school, Integra possesses a burning desire to prove herself to pretty much everyone she meets. She never gives up, never compromises, and approaches every situation with a dignity that will do her family name proud.

Others can view Integra as some sort of cold Ice Maiden (and they would be entirely right about the 'maiden' part, as Integra has never had any interest in or experience with romance), due to the fact that she is almost entirely serious all of the time, and does not tend to unwind, or relax, or act like any normal teenager. In truth, she finds her detachment from her classmates somewhat frustrating, but deems relationships with schoolmates to be 'unnecessary' given that it doesn't directly contribute to her work with the Hellsing order. She's most likely to take interest in another student because of the prowess they show at skills which could be useful in a member of her organization.

Background: Integra Hellsing was born in England, into a prestigious wizarding family, which has presided for generations over what has come to be known as the 'Hellsing Order'. This cadre of specialized witches and wizards has made it their specific mission to protect England (and especially unknowing Muggles) from the threat of vampires, and occasional other monsters, which lurk the streets after dark.

Integra's great-grandparents were actually Abraham and Rita Van Helsing, Germans who relocated to England after Abraham's famous confrontation with Dracula himself. They built the ancestral home which Integra was raised in, and had one son, Xavier, changing their last name to VanHellsing. It was Xavier, and his British wife, who began associating with other wizards and witches who specialized in hunting monstrous and dangerous creatures, and they changed the family name to Hellsing, founding the Hellsing wizarding order. They worked closely with the few members of the British government who knew about the existence of the magical world, and under Xavier's leadership, became a practically militant unit. Xavier had two sons, Arthur and Richard, and leadership of the Order was passed down to Arthur upon Xavier's death.

Arthur had one daughter by an Indian witch who died before the child, Integra, turned one. She does not remember her mother. Her childhood experience was not by any stretch of imagination what one would consider 'normal' : she was entirely home schooled by her father, taught the secrets of vampires and how to fight them from the time she could read, kept on an irregular schedule of spending most days in bed, and most nights awake, when the Order was active. The Hellsing manor itself was not simply a home for herself and her father, but also contained housing for members of the Order, who treated her with as much respect as they did her father. Integra did not want for love from her father, given that she was his only family member surviving, aside from his unscrupulous and ambitious brother, Richard. But she had to endure long stretches of spending time alone, and as such, spent a great deal of time reading, studying magical history and theory, learning fencing and other weaponry, and other such practical pursuits. Her interactions with others her own age was exceedingly limited, and so her first year at Hogwarts, when she was 11, she kept largely to herself, and was seen by classmates as either timid or self-absorbed, depending on their perspective.

Arthur Hellsing died when Integra was 12 years old, the summer following her return from First Year. He bequeathed his seat on the Convention of Twelve, and the leadership of the Hellsing order to his daughter on his death bed, driving her uncle Richard into a murderous rage, given that he had expected to inherit both titles. She overheard him plotting to kill her, and escaped to the basement of the Hellsing manor, where her father had told her she could find assistance in a time of need. Rather, all she found was a dried up corpse, and she was cornered by her uncle and his thugs. Richard cast a spell which Integra barely evaded, causing blood to spill from her shoulder where it had struck. They were all surprised to find the corpse suddenly licking up the blood and breaking free from its bonds, returned to 'life'. The creature ripped Richard's brutes to shreds, literally, and bowed down to Integra as his new master. Richard managed to crawl to his wand, and attempted to cast a killing curse upon Integra, but the vampire blocked it with simply his arm (perhaps in part because he himself was not 'alive' and represented simply a physical barrier, or perhaps an indication of some of the mysterious arcane experiments the Hellsing family had been conducting on him for decades in that basement). Integra shot her own uncle over the vampire, Alucard's arm, and killed him.

Since then, Alucard has remained with her, as her servant, Knight, and employee, given that he is the single most effective weapon the Order possesses when it comes to fighting monsters. Not only this, but he has also become Integra's sworn protector, which has made it almost impossible for anyone who wants to argue with the young teenager in charge. Integra was knighted and began actively serving as director of the Order, but it was decided that she should continue her education as much as possible at Hogwarts, making important executive decisions via owl when necessary, but leaving the daily routine to some of the more trusted senior members of the Order. Given that Alucard remained behind as well (it was deemed as potentially off putting to the other students to send him along with Integra, and she had already had a difficult enough time making friends without being followed around by an intimidating vampire), there was no danger that anyone in the order would attempt to step out of line and usurp power from the Hellsing family line.

During the last semester, Integra was forced to leave Hogwarts when a sudden surge in vampire attacks became more than she could handle by proxy.  She had to continue attempting coursework from back at Hellsing headquarters, while also fielding a full-on assault on a powerful ancient vampire who was attempting to create something of an army for himself in London.  They lost several soldiers, which hasn't left her in the best mood, and she wasn't certain it was even a good idea to return to Hogwarts after the vampire's elimination.  However, she'd already fallen somewhat behind, and only barely passed into 6th year courses.   Snide accusations from round table members that full time schooling and the responsibilities of running Hellsing might be "too much for her" only set her teeth against dropping out of Hogwarts, and prompted her to return, more determined to finish than ever.

Blood: Full-blooded.

Preferred House: Gryffindor. If not, then Ravenclaw.
Why you think they belong in this house? While Integra possesses the workaholic nature and logical, tactical mind of a Ravenclaw, these are not what define the very core of her being. Rather, Integra's greatest strength is her indomitable strength of will in the face of adversity, which is the mark of a courageous Gryffindor. On top of this, her life revolves around her literally chivalric duty to Queen and country, as a knighted member of the British Convention of Twelve. The Hellsing Order itself is viewed as a modern group of Royal Knights. She also notably displays some of the more prominent weaknesses for which Gryffindors are famous: despite her usual calm and cool demeanor, when faced with challenges, she can become recklessly self-righteous, dogmatic to the point of dangerous, and her extreme confidence in her righteous path can come off as arrogance to others who do not perceive things the same way she does.

School Year:  6th.

Quidditch Position: As cool as Firebolts and Quaffles are... no thanks.
Would you like the character to possibly get a higher position? Y! Prefect.

Roleplay Samples

Journal Sample:

One might think that conditions here would improve over time.  And yet upon my return,  I find that things are precisely as they were when I departed: a lack of self-discipline, the same inane babble, students who don't appreciate their coursework and do whatever possible to get out of studying or improving themselves.  Honestly, it seems that a great deal of you have never had to have an ounce of motivation in your lives.  Without your mothers here to clean up after you, or remind you to put work before play, your lives become a cycle of waiting for the next holiday.

But while you're all dreaming of eggnog and reindeer, some of us are attempting to learn the skills necessary to actually have an impact outside of these walls.  To be members of a long, proud line of wizards and witches, dedicated to using our powers for what is right and good, protecting those unable to protect themselves from the horrors lurking this world.

In other words, if you must stay up until all ungodly hours of the night, making a ridiculous din in the common room, and disturbing others' concentration or attempts at sleep, I have some words of advice:

Don't.

This is what is called a friendly warning.  If you'd like to make this into something more personal, however, I'm certain I could oblige.

Roleplay Sample:

Lighten up, they'd told her.  Don't you even have a sense of humor?

Her classmates' words rang in her ears, and a slight frown worked its way across her lips, a tiny hmrph escaping them as her eyes slid across the bookshelf in the common room.

She didn't have time for a sense of humor.  Nor could she really afford one in her line of work.  Not the sort of sense of humor the other students here seemed to enjoy, that is.  She appreciated a certain darker side of what was "funny" that very few other people here ever seemed to appreciate.

The frown remaining fixed in place, her eyes slid across the room, making certain it was still empty, before she reached up and ran her gloved hand over the selection of titles, pausing over one.  She removed the thin volume, and stared at the cover.  There was obvious displeasure on her features, as if even reading that much annoyed her.

There was a name written on the inside cover - Jacen Solo - and she assumed he was some relation to the Professors, and Jaina.  Perhaps he'd been expelled for spending more time cracking jokes than studying.  That thought cheered her up slightly, and she thumbed through the pages.

"What kind of animal should you never play cards with?" she read aloud quietly.  Flipping the page over, she failed in suppressing an audible groan.

"A cheetah," she said, disdain dripping from her voice.  With a sigh, she flipped the book back onto the shelf, as if she couldn't drop it fast enough.

That was really an accurate enough summary.
