Since the first venues/dates have been announced along with the hint of pick-from-the-crowd-meet-and-greets, I thought I would bring up the question of what kinds of flamboyant accessories would cause someone to be rejected at the door of a venue.
On the day of the concert in 2010 in San Jose, the venue handed out paper lists to the people in the GA line of what they could not enter with. Among those items (some obviously dangerous like fireworks) were aluminum cans (a la Telephone). Some people were forced to go and change because of the (last minute) rules. In your experience with the Monster Ball or other shows in your area, where is the line drawn?
Items I want to clarify are:
- large costume pieces that are not props but would get in the way of others (such as oversized shoulder pads or skirt bustles)
- large or small costume pieces that involve non-metal (plastic) spiky items (studs or crystal polygons that come to an edge)
- Things in #2 that are not metal but look like metal (painted or otherwise)
- LEDs or other clothing lights (knowing that laser pointers and flashlights are generally prohibited)
- big hats or headpieces (wide brim or tall)
Have your costume pieces ever been rejected? What crazy things have you gotten away with?
Thanks, ladies and gents!
