the great bicycle hunt 2006

it's more or less down to these three. i think.

EDIT: no.
i just put a deposit on a sweet trek 2000 wsd.
its specs are different from anything i can find on the interweb; apparently trek's 2003 archives aren't that reliable. backstock = cheaper. it's the next component set up from the trek 1000 (above) for less money.
basically, i'm getting $500 off the list price, plus they said they'd switch out the stem (the only component on this one that i don't like) for a shorter one without charging me for the new one. miguel is also going to clean it for me (nice), and install new reflectors (who cares).
i rode the specialized (above) and the trek that i'm getting around soho, and fuuuuuuuuuck. so nice. asjgbhwoghw. so nice. so faaaaaaaaaaaaaast. a track kid even said "nice trek" when we were at lafayette and houston, waiting for the light to change and commiserating about toe clips. the shop guys said he was probably just hitting on me, but i like to think that he was hitting on the bike.
yeah, it's mine.
would it be wrong for me to let it sleep in my bed with me?
