She walks to the edge of the cliff, gulping down large amounts of air. Glancing down at the water, the rolling waves and their white edges, she knows what she wants. She wants the water to engulf her, her body a meal to the sea. She wants the water to close around her, devour her into the endless blue. She wants so badly for the water to fill her lungs, to be in every molecule of her being.
As she leans on the edge, staring into the sea, a voice in her mind asks so many questions. As her breath hitches, and she closes her eyes, the questions become pleading screams. As she takes the step forward and plunges down to meet the icy waves, there is only one question he asks. Why?
