We left texas 11 days ago, and it feels like an eternity ago. My mom aws gracious enough to come out a few days before and help me with the move. The movers came on the 20th and loaded the truck, we stayed in a hotel that night, and left the next day. Shawn flew out that morning from El Paso to Dallas. We picked him up at the airport and he drove our 26 foot U-Haul with Isosceles and Mom, the boys, and I followed in the car. About an hour into the drive the dog had some, um, messy bathroom issues in the front of the truck. After a 40 minute stop for cleanup and dog bathing we were back on the road. Two more stops for gas, and an additional two stops for car sickness we made it out to Clovis. We drove into town and saw the most amazing sunset I have ever seen. The sky was an electric purple with the bright orange sun just below the horizon. I have never seen anything like it in my whole life.
Monday we moved in and over the next two days Mom, Shawn and I got most of the unpacking done. The boys love the backyard, epecially now that they have a fantastic new sandbox courtosy of their Grandma Honey. They have spent at least an hour each day playing in it. We usually have to put them directly into the bath afterward, but it's totally worth it. Our old backyard was okay, but here we have trees and much softer grass. Its obvious this yard plays much better.
Thursday, I drove Mom to the airport in Lubbock, then back home to the guys. We loaded up and headed off to El Paso to get Shawn's car. We drove south and got to see lots of the state. We saw green mountains, sandy desert, and everything in between. It was really interesting to see landscapes so different from anywhere I have been before.

From El Paso we drove to Alamogordo where Shawn was training to stay the night. We ate dinner at the Applebee's and crashed in his hotel room. In the morning we went to Verison to get a new phone plan and new phones which took only, and I don't exaggerate here, three hours.
We were successful though, as I am writing this on my new Blackberry while sitting outside watching the boys play in the shade of our apple tree.
After our cellular store adventure we said goodbye to daddy and headed home. Through the mountains we drove, and up to 8 or 9 thousand feet to which I can only imagine was the surface of the moon. I was so glad to be back in our new home without any more driving ahead of me.

In the past few days, I got the pictures up and the last few things put away. Its suprising, I would have never have thought, but our furniture looks really good in this house. It looks way better than it did in our old house. This house already looks much more finished in only 10 days than our last house did in an entire year. I can tell we are going to really like it here, especially since Shawn came home for good last night! Its so nice to be back together again.
Clovis, NM is looking to be a nice little family town. Our area is pretty and green. Our neighborhood is about 30 years old and peaceful. Everyone is so friendly here, and the weather, oh my gosh, the weather. Such a nice change from the 100+ temperatures we had in Dallas. I could really get used to this. I honestly never thought that I would like it here this much. I expected it to be a place where we made do until the next place we went, but we are settling in nicely.
So, when do we get our first visitors?
