I recommend watching Morgan Spurlock's new series 30 Days on FX. The premiere episode should be on again tonight. He and his fiancee spend 30 days trying to survive on minimum wage, and it's incredibly tough to watch in parts, but it's worth it. My mother wondered jokingly about how long they'd keep this "leftist propaganda on the air." It was measured for good TV, especially because his fiancee's 30th birthday took place during the 30 days and both of them had to go the ER (and since they were on minimum wage, neither of them could use their health insurance.) Watch and see what you hope to never have to go through; I believe the repeat is on at 11 PM Eastern and Pacific.

Sean Glynn is out here in L.A., doing more of the union work he was doing last summer. He and I are going to try and hang tomorrow evening. I've got an EA meeting at noon and he's trying to get jobs during the day.

This tags thing on LJ is kind of fun, although what I would really like from this SixApart partnership in terms of tech features is trackback.

The town of Preston, Idaho has started a Napoleon Dynamite festival. Sweet.

Apparently Sen. Joe Biden (D-Delaware) intends to run for president in '08. One blog has a few good reasons he shouldn't get your support on civil liberties issues. Also, don't forget the awful bankruptcy bill that passed because Biden's a tool of the credit card companies. The media and most of the Washington Democrats will let him slide through to the nomination, especially if he's perceived as a "not-Hillary" candidate (never mind that she's not said a thing about running), so there needs to be a seriously liberal candidate, not the usual Democratic middler.
