Name me one of my characters, and I'll tell you the inspiration(s) behind their initial conception, whether they be real-life people or fictional characters. Present, future & past are all fair game!
I haven't done a meme in ages, feels like. I also don't feel like listing out my characters, but you can find a list of my usernames

Rarity. 8|a So there's this other character I've recycled a couple times named Artemis, who's basically a poncy noble snob, and he's REALLY FUN to play. When I first saw MLP:FIM, I was like "Holy shit Rarity is Artemis." They're different enough--Rarity's a hard worker and Artemis is a lazy SOB, Rarity actually knows what compassion is and Arty has yet to learn--that I can say Lacy is a mix of the two. She's Artemis, with some personality traits from Rarity to make her not insufferable.
But mostly the inspiration was Rarity. The PB I'm using for her is even a PB I had picked out for a human Rarity which I had been thinking of apping to re_fated.
Sebastian
Is another lifted-from-my-novel character. Sadly, his original incarnation (in SVW) worked a lot better than his GH one. I accidentally made him too dumb and gave him a vindictive streak 8|a Anyway in the book he's a Valkyrie, with powers over luck, and he's sort of the happy-go-lucky devil-may-care character who's always upbeat and trying to cheer everyone else up. He played this role in SVW pretty well, but in GH he just wasn't well-connected enough.
His original inspiration, I guess, was that I wanted to have a thief-type (back when AC was still in vague RPGish territory), and making a thief the Angel of Luck seemed like a good idea at the time.
Duncan
Oh my god I just wanted to play a Rocket. TEAM ROCKET ;___;
Back when the idea of a Pokémon RP came up I was like "this is the best idea, I will play a Rocket who is an idealist who believes in the cause," and this character concept was there before I ever decided who that Rocket should be. I picked (SURPRISE) another novel character, this time the main character from Odd Jobs Division, though the Duncan that came out ended up being a sort of mix of that Duncan and of Matt from AC. I would actually say that RP Duncan has influenced book Duncan FAR more than the other way around, because original book Duncan was a pretty bland character.
Anyway, Duncan as an idealist Rocket, I figured it made the most sense for him to be a scientist for Team Rocket because they're the ones doing the "good" work that will be useful to mankind in the future, and the rest of him just sort of evolved from there.
The core of his character, now, is that he's somebody who has a conscience, but does terrible things because he really believes that in the end it's necessary. In DexNet it was all the illegal shit Team Rocket did, and in GH it's graverobbing and vivisections for research purposes. GH has sort of been a study in how far he can go while retaining his humanity.

Why as far as the grave, of course!
