I'm tired of professional athletes guaranteeing a victory and not facing any consequences if that guarantee falls through. It used to mean something when an athlete came out and told the press and the world that his team was going to win.... GUARANTEED! Now, it means nothing because just about every Joe Schmo guarantees victory every other Wednesday. What the hell, man?
I think that if a professional athlete feels so strongly about his teams chances of winning that he wants to *guarantee* it by telling the press, he should put that week's salary on the line and donate the amount to makeitrightnola.org if his team loses.
Of course, if professional athletes were actually held responsible for their ridiculous actions and promises, I guarantee that these guarantees would stop.
