I put in a 14 hour work day today. Not un-common in the last 3 years, but of interest because I caught quick flashes of what people may call a "breaking point" when it comes to work. For me that was feeling tears approaching while I am butting up against a hard deadline of having to prepare for 10 days in Korea this week for work.
I will be in meetings for about 8-9 hours a day. If not every day, then planning what we will be doing every day next year when the "real" visit happens. I am putting a lot of work into this as it demands.
I realized "the edge" as I was imagining me sending my folks my itinerary in Korea which is 5 pages front and back for 10 days. I put together all of the meetings along with our host city, which is truly the champion. But how much research went into those meetings.
I hope that some value will come out of this advance trip and the "real" trip later on. Korea is a major partner of our state's and there are many cultural and economic ties between the two. I need to put in a lot more work to make sure that we can all find something of value.
