Autumn
In contrast with the past nine months, life recently is quite slow. I attend fewer social functions and meet with more individuals one-on-one.
Work life, on the other had, is frenetic by comparison. We hosted delegations from Brazil and Zambia last week. This week, it's the Slovenian Ambassador, and Chinese and Ethiopian delegations. I am organizing the Slovenian Ambassador's presentation...tomorrow.
Surprisingly little motivation to do much except cook and smoke cigarettes. I ponder skiing.
Glad its cold outside. I will roast some beets tonight!
EDIT: I still perk up any time "media relations" is mentioned. I have accepted this as genetic. It simply never goes away. SK: David S. is coming by today. Me: Who? SK: deals with media relations and the port. Me: can I tag along? Bring him a Fanta orange?
