Trip to the Emergency room today

Dec 14, 2004 17:21

I was one of those lucky 1 in 20 or so of tonsilectomy patients to bleed out 7 days after the surgery. Rock and roll! The one day I awake feeling almost ok I end up losing a pint of blood give or take. I made it through six hours of work and then I cough a little bit and from the back of my throat hot blood starts spilling into my mouth like a water faucet. I go to the bath room and spit out the mouthfuls of blood a couple of times and then rush into the office and right my boss a note that says "Gotta go bleeding out". He was a champ and drove me to the emergency room. I was treated relatively quickly and they stabbed me in my throat and then carbroiled the back right corner of my mouth for about an hour or so. But hey I get a little bit of time of work... not paid of course. They did refill my Vicodine perscription which was nice... maybe I can sell it to someone or something if I don't use it all.
I am still alive and that is all I can ask for right now the surgeon told me to go buy a lottery ticket because with my luck I might just win.

Until next and hopefully with a lot less blood and burnt flesh,
Greg
