DH Job Update
First off, a HUGE thank you to everyone on my flist for being so supportive and encouraging since DH got laid off on the 1st. I've been a bit absent since then because he's been home and I don't really get to sit on my computer as much when we are all together as a family. (Nor should I!) So here's the big news!!
On Friday, Mike accepted a position with a Seattle company that is really really excited to work with him. They are a smaller shop that needs a senior developer to come in and help them out. Their salary is a whole $13k above what he was making before, and that is going to make a big difference for us! Hurray!
And even BIGGER news is that today he was offered a FANTASTIC position with a very well known company. He kept telling them no and they kept upping the ante on him. They got up to $104k before he finally has decided that he just can't do it. He says "integrity before money" and the company that he already said yes to would be very disappointed if he backed out. I am so proud of him. I think the world needs more people of such impeccable moral standard. Most of you know that Mike and I are worship leaders at church and in a pastoral internship. A lot of folks look to us for examples, and I am humbled by the fact that he turned that job down.
The hiring agency he is going through say that they can't explain it, they are awed by the fact that he was unemployed for only 2 weeks. All of the other programmers they are working with have been on the market for 5-6 months.
What a stud!
