Been Gone Gone Gone...

Some pictures and personal stuff ahead, so don't read if that's not your thing.

I've been MIA this past week, and I must say...I've missed you guys!  I'm not usually on much on the weekends, but then when Monday rolled around, we got a bit off bad news.

Most of you know that DH is a web developer in a PHP/MySQL environment for a large gaming company.  (Anyone that plays games has certainly played one of - or heard of one - of theirs.)  Anyways, so lately he's been noticing that the company has been shifting over to ASP and he isn't really an ASP programmer.  He love love loved the job, but he started looking around to see what else is out there because he didn't want to be limited in the scope of his projects.

Good thing too, because on Monday, he got laid off.

It was amicable, and they really really like him.  He got references from 3 of the company founders as well as a personal call from one of them that was saddened to hear the news.  So he was well-liked and respected.  Still...it doesn't make it any easier to have to go through the process of saying goodbye to the last three years of your life, you know?

So he got a small severence package and already has some interviews lined up this week, so I'll have to let you guys know how that goes.  I'm not worried about it, and after the initial shock wore off, he's ok with it too.  He's ready to move on.  We know that God's working on us, and we trust Him to do whatever He wants.

So we might stay around here (Seattle) or maybe another state!  How exciting would that be?  One of the potential employers is in Vegas...I don't know about THAT!  But we'll see.

We have had a great week of taking the kids around and going to the park, the swimming pool, Snoqualmie Falls, and just generally enjoying the GORGEOUS Pacific Northwest weather and our family.  I haven't really had a peaceful moment to just sit and post.  DH is studying for an interview tomorrow, and we just put the kiddies to bed, so I thought I'd sort through all of the posts I've missed (So sorry if I don't get to someone's!) and maybe post Flight Chapter 3.

Here I go!!

Me, Henry, and Helen standing on the lookout over Snoqualmie Falls.  I've lived around here my whole life, but I don't think I could ever get tired of this view!

Someone likes to put her feet up on everything.  I wonder who she gets that from?... =)

HA!  Mike's frantic "I'm OK...see?  Really!  I swear!" face.

Look guys!  I found a pine cone!

And finally...is there a little boy out there that doesn't think trains are THE COOLEST THING EVER!!?

Ok, thanks for letting me get all "personal life" on you for a bit.  If you don't like seeing this stuff on your friends page...well then, why did you read it all the way until this point?  Sheesh!!
