A Wonderful Surprise!

Not long ago, my husband and I were pondering why there seems to be a real lack of quality friends out there. You know the types: the ones that think of you for no reason, that remember special events and dates, that check in with you just to say "hi" and are always willing to get together. Sadly, most of us don't really know many people that don't get so caught up in their everyday lives that they are too busy to be a good friend. (I've been guilty too!!) My husband has now expressed his insane jealousy that I have such a friend...and I've never even met her!

You guys all know that I've been pretty sick with this baby, feeling isolated and stuck at home with two small children, and then I got a nasty cold with sore throat and the works. I was starting to feel a bit sorry for myself, I admit! And then what happens? I get a knock at my door and there is the postal carrier with a package for me. I'm confused. I'm expecting UPS with my new bass guitar at any minute...that box most certainly does not have a bass in it.

But then I note the return address.

Suffice to say, my wonderful, thoughtful, kind, and SINCERE friend Heather (hpaich) sent me gifts for the new baby. She even sent boy AND girl items, knowing that we are not going to find out the sex this time around. And the blanket that I admired on her FaceBook page after she finished making it. I had no idea it was going to end up with me!

I cried the whole time I was opening it, and for a good time afterwards as well. Thank you, dear friend.

She's probably embarrassed as hell that I posted about this, but she deserves a shout out. For those of you that don't know her, I encourage you to take the time. You have no idea what an amazing person you're missing out on.

Thank you Sweetie! I love you!! ((HUGS))

The bag before I dug in. Isn't it adorable!!??

Look at all the goodies! What a spoiled little baby this one will be! And that blanket is going to be an heirloom. *sniff*

Helen and Henry had lots of fun with the box!

baby, friends
