Man oh man, what's that guy got in his hand? It's an egg, it's a spoon, it's a snapshot of the moon

I've never been dropped from a class for missing a single day before, but evidently the person who was supposed to be my math teacher didn't see a point in waiting to find out if I'd show up on the second day of class this week. I originally thought that the class started on February 12th. It turned out to be the 2nd, which meant I missed it and the next day I got an email saying I'd been dropped for nonattendance. Evidently the policy of waiting until the second or third class to see who's staying and who isn't is not an option for this teacher. Since the dropping process is one-way, there's nothing I can do now but try to get my money back. What an idiotic waste of time. What a stupid teacher. I'm so annoyed about that.

Oh, I won another Scrabble match against Sam tonight! I think I'm getting better at this game. A lot of depends on the luck of the tiles you get, and a lot of it is just paying attention. It reminds me of when I was little and I used to get so frustrated that I could never beat my dad at anything... I think that was probably why I latched onto video games so strongly. For the most part I was better than him at them. Then Phantasy Star Online came along and I might have had more strategies but he was the one that was still alive and leveling up at the end of the boss fights. I guess I can look forward to schooling my kids at video games for a few years, at least.

I also got that new cell phone so now there won't be surprise $50 texting bills from harassing Shelley during work and rehearsal! Yay for that! It's a nice little phone, too, even if it'll take some getting used to. But what doesn't?
So yeah. At the moment life is good. Near as I can tell, anyway. Tomorrow after work I'm going to go see Coraline with Maria. Opening night, baby! I'm so excited. I love Neil Gaiman's work and Henry Selick is a visionary, so I'm looking forward to this. Mr. Selick was absolutely right when he said even if only the people who liked Nightmare Before Christmas go see the movie, it'll be a success. After all, someday we'll all have kids we force to watch the movie.
