Something really weird is going on. According to a press release these two guys I've been following news articles about are, on Friday, going to reveal the alleged "body" they discovered in the forest earlier this summer. They're supposed to be Bigfoot hunters, but in what I've seen they've come off as standard-issue inbred jerks, especially when they uploaded a video of them burning a book by Loren Coleman to YouTube. Now, though, Loren has posted on his blog about their press release and he sounds... supportive. He actually used the phrase "this may be the real deal". Loren is a really respected person in the cryptozoological community, he's somebody I really look up to, and he has an admirable reputation. For him to endorse this in any way is... very telling. I'm very interested in finding out what these two actually found, which supposedly will be revealed on Friday. Loren has been given some more information on it, which he says he isn't allowed to share just yet, that makes him think this might be legitimate. And I trust him. It bothers me that if this is true, Bigfoot's existence will have been proven by a couple of rednecks, but... I suppose I should take what I can get when it comes to cryptozoology. I will be following the updates on this story and awaiting Friday very impatiently. In all likelihood I'll find out when I get home from work that night.
