Hee! That was me in the Buffy Fandom. I discovered fanfic and was all Buffy/Angel, Buffy/Spike, Spike/Willow. Then I saw a story with the pairing Spike/Angel. I was like 'whaaaa?' After that, heh. Slash for everyone!

I know, right? I was so puzzled, and then I was all Oooooh, I get it now. :D

Haha, I bet all slashers were sooo shocked at first and then thought "Why didn't I find this sooner???" At least, that's what happened to me all those years ago. :D

Yes, for some reason I've always found awful het fics too. There are also some awful slash fics, but a lot are really, really good.

My first entry into fanfiction was The X-Files, too! It was all newsgroups and websites. And the Gossmar project!! \o/

I was like, what? People take the stories in my head and write them and other people like to read them, too??

Yup! I used tin to read the newsgroups, and lynx to access the gossamer site. Spend many a happy hour there!

It was so nice to find out that other people made up stories too!

OMG! It was the same for me. I was so very much into The X-Files and everything I had in my head, was written there, just for me. :) And Mulder and Skinner... Yeah, it was a shock but oh, I loved it!

It was so exciting to be able to spend more time with the characters I loved! And there was some damn good fic written.
