Two days of meme as I won't post tomorrow!
I'm posting today's entry and tomorrow's because it is stocktake and I will be in work from 8am to 11pm (that's if I'm lucky).
I will surprise people with this, but my couple I actually didn't mind was:
Rachel and Joey
While it was pretty likely from the onset that these two would not have a future together, I didn't think it was that unbelievable that someone could fall for a friend they'd known for a long time. I think it's a fairly common situation. Also the thing is with the character of Joey it was almost a return to his origins, because no one will remember that in the first couple of seasons Joey was a lot more normal and less of a womaniser... he talked about dating girls and it wasn't always all about sex. So this is just to say, if they had let them stay together for whatever reason, I wouldn't have been as outraged as everyone else.
This is the one I'm going to be slated for. So prepare yourselves, because here come...
Barney and Robin (HIMYM)
I'm sorry, I'm just not a fan of this couple. The storyline of Barney actually having feelings for someone for once was not bad, but once this sexual tension resolved, they were one of the dullest and most mismatched couples I ever had to watch... I just didn't buy it. And Robin as a character has never been the same since this storyline, she's become boring and had a personality retcon. She's still pretty but that's no longer enough... to be honest, the whole series as a whole has become a lot worse since this storyline I think, so even though I still watch it was kind of the jump the shark moment for me.
