Plagiarism is something that is wrong. It is the use of thoughts and ideas that are someone else’s’ without giving them credit. It is basically stealing people’s words and different ideas conceived while trying to pose them as your own. It is almost as if you are robbing someone of their identity. Plagiarism can be avoided and should be, because that is the right thing to do.
A technical definition of plagiarism according to Dictionary.com is, “the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work.” Examples of plagiarism are directing copying and pasting off the internet without proper citation, or rewriting something directly anything they have read or even heard that may have been a direct quote. One should also site ideas that were pointed out by others. If you do not cite your sources appropriately you are still stealing. Regardless even if you put quotes you are still at fault if you do not use
