Oi vey

Currently surfing the 'net from the Best Western's wireless connection. What a busy last couple of days.

The first night drive (Friday) was lousy. Rained from Hinton to Valemount. Also, at Hinton I realized my rear wipers were blowing the wiper fuse again. I think the motor is shot. So I'm finishing this trip with no rear wipers. Not that I could see out the back anyways - the wagon was packed to the rafters. I need a bigger Suby or a roof rack. Stayed in Valemount the first night. It was a room over a bar, but it was fine, as I more or less zonked out. The hotel was right beside the train tracks and they were coming by quite often. D was pickled. Oh, he peed his pants making his way to the bathroom; the karma gods are making suffer some negativity first, to balance the positives I am to receive.

The next morning, we're off to Kamloops and the Coquihalla. Still raining. Nothing like white knuckle driving at 120 kph up and down a mountain side in the rain and fog to keep one awake. Did I mention Starbuck Vanilla Frappuccino is driver gold when a Tim Horton's is not to be found? Rain was on and off by the time we reached Hope. Finally saw some blue sky as we drove to Mission. Truely lost trying to find the Rolly Lake Provincial Park. Pulled over to get gas as well as ask directions. The attendants didn't know anything, but they did pull out a more detailed map than what we had. Found the park, found our reservation and we struck our tent.

Why is it that every campground has the jerk party that has to be drunk and singing loudly late at night? Anyways, more rain that night. Had to make sure that we didn't touch the sides of the tent, otherwise it (we'd) get damp. Oh, D peed his pajamas in his sleep. He didn't want to use the outhouses, and I can't blame him. Karma still setting me up. dawnsinger laughed at me when I mentioned the karma gods, but she got hers when she forgot her comb and I had one handy. Karma gods are not to be marginalized. For example, we abandoned a Tim Horton run in Port Moody because the lines were terrible, but a wrong turn led us to a less busy Timmy's in Vancouver.

That leads us to today. Lynn Canyon as fantastic. We could have spent more time there, but we had an Aquarium to see. Got some great shots with the Olympus - will have to see if they turn out.

So tired - it's 11:30 and I just came from putting D to sleep. I'll continue later...

karma, camping, vacation
