A roaring start

Um. Is it too late for me to take back my Phillies division title prediction?
By the way, Charlie Manuel might want to start looking around for other employment opportunities.

I believe this is a new record for shortest length of time before you announce you want to fire a Phillies manager. Congratulations on this milestone!

The reality is that Elmer Befuddled (Bill Conlin's phrase, not mine) gets outmanaged almost every game. What was with batting Howard third to start the season's first two games? He absolutely kicked ass as the cleanup hitter last year. Questionable decision #2: leaving Myers in to face Renteria, who has astounding career numbers against him, after he had already thrown 7+ innings and over 100 pitches. Questionable decision #3: After getting burned by Madson in the first game, Chuck hauls him out again for game #2 (despite the presence of several unused arms in the pen, including Alfonseca), and then leaves him in for two innings. Charlie didn't lose game 3 only because they got their asses handed to them without any help.

FIRE CHARLIE MANUEL!

Why do we do this to ourselves? It would be so much easier to love winning teams.

This is why I got to the Phillies games on Dollar Dog Night - even if they lose, I win because I only paid a dollar for my tasty hot dog.

and $10 for a watery beer

it is really impressive to see just how far the mets will go to help your phillies win one freaking game.
