Sorry for not updating in a long while. It's mainly because nothing has changed- I have yet to make a dent on wedding planning. My parents decided on the venue (because I'm unable to actually see these places for myself since I'm stuck out here in Myrtle Beach, SC.) They finally signed contracts last week! I've some pictures of the venue under the cut. Not spectacular, but my mom said the place is a little different than what the images show. It's got a fantastic view, though my wedding is in January- it matters. :)

The gazebo might possibly be where we might get married, but I (and my parents!) want to get married in a church. Marcus and I need to find out what we have to do though. He's not Catholic like me, and he has been married before (long story short- he was married previously for ten years. I met him while he was getting a divorce. I don't penalize him for being married before. His first marriage is what made him the man I love today. He's mature, grateful, and honest. He appreciates love and family (something his previous wife didn't do and made him feel awful.) That part of his life is just a blip in the map of our future.) Anyway, figuring out where and who will marry us is a stress I'm saving for later in the year when we can actually return home together for more than 7 days. :)
So my decisions on flowers, colors, desires haven't changed. Which is good! It means I'm nearly 100% on what I want and it will make doing all these plans easy to complete. :) I'm going home for almost all of June (from 6/1 to 6/29) I will not only be going out there to be a bridesmaid, but to actually finally be a bride too. I think the few things I've done since I became a bride was buy a few magazines (which for the most part, are no help) and try on those dresses a few posts ago. Honestly, I'm ready to do some real work. I think I'm going stir crazy not having anything planned. Even my guest list is blank. Our venue luckily has a max of about 100 people comfortably. Meaning, my wish is something that CANNOT be changed. I will get my 100 people or less wedding. Yah!
I kind of know what I want for my hair too. I'm going to go and have my hair done the first day I go to a bridal salon (at least the day I know I will be trying on a lot of options) and I'm thinking this style since I know I want my hair up, but not in a Prom/Bride-to-be up-do. I want something natural and for the most part elegant. I'm really digging hair accessories, but ones that are understated. The whole birdcage veil and feather frufru crap is not my cup of tea. I started doing some research and found these images and fell in love! Keira Knightley has the idea for most of her red-carpet looks. A real hair-spiration, if you don't mind me saying.
When it's come to looking for some great items, I've found hope in a few sites:
GILT OUTNET BLUE FLY GILT will actually be having their Wedding Shop exclusive on Thursday (4/14) and I'm pretty damn excited. I remember seeing this sale last year (when I wasn't engaged) and thinking, "What a great deal!" Now I can look at these deals and for once, act upon them!
The OUTNET is also a great site. If you catch every email, you have a chance at some awesome fashions for a great discounted price. I'm still holding out for a great pair of earrings. I recently went to one of the few fine jewelry stores out here in Myrtle Beach and tried on a pair of Pearl and Diamond earrings. I've never been much of a "pearly" girl, but these earrings were gorgeous. They were a pair of
MIKIMOTO and they were fantastically reduced at this store. Too bad Marcus and I don't have that money currently. :(
I'm hoping I catch something similar for the big day!
To end this first update of hopefully many, I have to say, Have I NOT SHOWN MY RING!?
It's pictured with my ringholder (one of two) here in the house. Marcus was happy to buy them since it means I won't lose 10k down the drain or in the garbage, or laundry, etc.
