You all know how upset I am about not only this election, but the underlying issues behind it. Roe V. Wade (scheduled for review soon), international relations, the failing American Dollar, socialized healthcare, the preservation of our environment, and queer rights are all obviously hugely important things to me.

Here, we have formed the RSA, or Radical Student Association. Basically, our goal (beyond revamping our name) is to raise as much hell as possible about the issues that we care about. This includes not only protests and rallies, but more importantly direct community outreach (writing to newspapers, speaking with local people, helping with campaigns, spreading the word as much as possible, and directly educating the youth), the networking of campuses across the nation to share ideas and utilize the strength of numbers, and the cultivation of a presence in terms of media coverage.

Now, what I want to know from all of you is if such a group (or a similar group) exists already at your campus our your school. If so, please give me the contact information for the group and as much information as you can about it--- we want to begin to communicate with people all across the nation AND in our hometowns. If there is NOT such a group (such as at good ol' SHS, unless times have changed), and you would be interested in starting one (or want to provide me with the name of someone who would like to start one), I have all sorts of organizational ideas and resources to get you started.

Basically, wherever you are, there ARE people who will support you, especially with the knowledge that there are other groups around the country working for the same goal. With a republican president, republican senate majority, republican house majority, and a soon-to-be republican justice majority, being a member of a group like moveon.org is no longer enough. They are wonderful, but you must start more locally---you must band together to fight for the changes that we deserve.

So please, let me know of any leftist or activist groups in your area, and don't hesitate to ask for help in starting one if there isn't one available for you. Especially you SHS kids--- you have time, money, and power--- don't wait until college to use it.
