Thank god our phone finally got installed so when I have to spend 45 minutes on the phone internationally, numerous times, it's not costing me an arm and a leg, just my sanity.
And screw globalization : it means that from France I am trying to defer my american loans which requires talking to a very unfriendly Indian woman who doesn't give a fuck and whose accent is IMpossible to understand and who won't transfer me to her supervisor, and can't get it through her head that my phone number doesn't have an area code because it's not an American number, and why does that matter? because I've sent the stupid deferment application twice now which is getting expensive in postage and very time-consuming having to stand in line for an hour to get it signed after finally finding the right office and dealing with French bureaucracy and my loans are coming due and I have no money and I don't understand why they keep rejecting my application and I can't work here or open a bank account because it has taken 3 months for the French administration to process my long-stay visa and it's still not done and, argh, fuck it. You get the idea.
