I suppose I should be thankful.
Most people live out their ENTIRE LIVES without killing a cockroach by bare hand.
1. One book that changed your life.
I can't pick any one that's actually CHANGED MY LIFE, but I'm willing to bet that the good ones have in ways I don't realize.
2. One book you have read more than once.
I've read most of my books more than once! I've read A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers probably four times.
3. One book you would want on a desert island.
Something looooong and complicated - Something by James Clavell or Gabriel Garcia Marquez. They'd keep a human un-bored for longer.
4. One book that made you laugh.
Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby!
5. One book that made you cry.
I think there was a section in, oddly enough, High Fidelity As She Climbed Across The Table by Jonathan Lethem that made me sniffle. Otherwise, I don't think I have. Not even in The Green Mile. I didn't cry while watching the movie either. FYI.
6. One book you wish had been written.
???
7. One book you wish had never been written.
???
8. One book you are currently reading.
Shogun by James Clavell. I first read it when I was around 13 or 14... A long-ass and epic work of bloodshed, sex and culture in feudal Japan.
9. One book you have been meaning to read.
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris... It's next on my list. I've also been meaning to check out the latest Nick Hornby with the light blue cover (does anyone have it?) and the newer Murakamis (A Wild Sheep Chase, etc.)
*bonus question... What's the best book you've received as a present?
THE STAR TREK ENCYCLOPEDIA!
