My attempt to develop a passable array of culinary skills is continuing. Rachael’s birthday party, which was an enjoyable event, provided the opportunity for further experiments. I made brownies using an old recipe my mom used use every now and then back when she spent more time cooking. I have experimented with this recipe before. The results were passable, but far too sweet. This time I halved the amount of sugar resulting in considerable improvement. Steps were also taken to make sure the brownies didn’t stick to the pan, which was a problem with the last batch.
I think they were well received. Nothing to compare with anything Gabe made, but they did not go uneaten. If I attempt this recipe again I may increase the amount of sugar I use. Too much sugar may be a bad thing, but a little more wouldn’t hurt.
