Not sure...
So, it's been a long time. How are you guys?
It's probably time for me to just out and out get a bunch of things off of my chest.
First, for those that don't know, I quit Speakeasy. I simply couldn't handle how the Business VoIP product was being managed any further. It was stressful at best. Each of the account managers had several VoIP clients. Everytime one of the clients had a problem that lasted more than 24 hours, it would end up on a "tracker". The tracker was reviewed daily by the executive staff and engineering where they would demand updates, and provide advice/feedback. In theory, it's great. It gets the big issues on the floor and open for all to see. In practice, it was micromanagement at its worst. We were expected to have updates for each issue on our tracker every day before 4pm. Usually, this meant working with that group of customers all day long to get those updates and resulted in ignoring customers who needed other help. It was tedious, stressful, and completely not in the realms of what I could consider to be "Speakeasy".
I work for a company called Pacific Galleries now. I'm the "systems administrator". While it was technically a step up in my career, it was a step down in pay, which sucked. The company is a combination antique mall, auction house, and magazine publishing company. I enjoy the work, although it is a little boring compared to the fast paced nature of a call center.
Tim and I are still together and coming up on 3.5 years (I think that's a world record for gay relationships). There are still issues that we are working on here and there, but overall Tim is still the best thing that's ever happened to me. :) When we're not working, we're usually playing WoW (our guild finally came together and we've got Onyxia and MC on farm status, and we're up to Flamegor in BWL, great progress for a guild that's been together for 3 months ) or watching TV. We've been a little more social lately, going out and such.
