So, i have a bit of a rant here. I had my Health lesson to present today. It was a pretty good lesson (if i do say so myself! lol). It was a 1st grade health lesson on the 5 senses. I had a brief powerpoint, a book to read with pictures for them to hold up while i read (and eye if they think the character is seeing something, an ear for hearing, etc...) After that i had the students construct a poem using the five senses to describe winter. Then i had a short quiz for them to do. This all only took 20 minutes because i'm working with a class of 20-somethings doing 1st grade (kindergarten really) work. In an actual 1st-grade room there would be more interuptions, more stories about things, etc...it would even take more time to explain everything. So when i was done, my teacher was like, "well, it could have been longer..." and then he launched into a tirade about it. I was SO pissed off. It was a good lesson, and in a 1st grade classroom, it would take twice as long, and i would probably have to do it over 2 days. I talked to him about after class and he said that i should have made us act more like 1st graders. I told him that i KNOW first graders because i teach dance to them, and they do not have the attention span for a long lesson, and that this one would be more than enough for them....grawrara. whatever. i still get an A cause i rock like that.
but grr...
i hate school.
